Chumbivilcas: Pobladores dan plazo hasta fin de año para retiro de la Minera Anabi
Desde hace varios años atrás la presencia de empresas mineras y la gran cantidad de concesiones (97% del territorio) otorgadas en la provincia de Chumbivilcas, Cusco, ha mantenido en constante alerta a los pobladores de este lugar. A la fecha, existen varios proyectos asentados, algunos en fase de exploración, otros iniciando la fase de explotación y uno en cierre de mina. Hablamos del proyecto Azuca de la empresa minera ARES, el proyecto Constancia de la Norsemonth hoy Hud Bay, el proyecto minero Collasuyo, y la empresa Anabi que se encuentra en cierre.
Último conflicto
Con Anabi es con quien se ha suscitado un conflicto el pasado fin de semana. El proyecto se encuentra ubicado en la comunidad de Pumallacta, distrito de Quiñota, Chumbivilcas. Es la única empresa que a la fecha se encuentra en etapa de explotación minera. Produce oro desde el año 2009 pero no da a conocer sus niveles de producción y de aporte de renta.
Anteriormente ha tenido conflictos con las comunidades del distrito de Quiñota, quienes el año 2010 le exigieron ser beneficiarios de sus utilidades, solicitud que no fue aceptada por la empresa, motivo por el cual se firmó un convenio de cooperación mutua, en el que la empresa se comprometió a realizar diversas obras en las comunidades por un monto de dos millones de soles, hasta diciembre del 2011.
Sobre el conflicto
Los hechos sucedieron en el distrito de Llusco. Los pobladores afirman que por el paso de los camiones y las cisternas, la carretera que une Llusco y Quiñota se está deteriorando al extremo de malograr los puentes, por ello restringieron el paso que conduce a los campamentos mineros de las empresas Anabi y ARES.
Los pobladores exigen que ambas empresas suspendan sus operaciones, ya que los proyectos mineros se encuentran en las cabeceras de la cuenca de los ríos Santo Tomás y Molino. El temor es por la contaminación que se podría producir en sus ríos. Señalan también que los camiones trasladan abundante cantidad de insumos químicos, motivo por el que retuvieron a varios de ellos pertenecientes a la empresa Anabi.
Finalmente, los comuneros recordaron a la empresa minera que tienen hasta fin de año para que retiren sus campamentos, en el caso de Anabi el convenio que mantiene con el distrito de Quiñota vence en diciembre del 2011. En el caso de la empresa ARES se ha planteado la posibilidad de otorgar un tiempo para que se retiren. Este conflicto está activo y todo parece indicar que en enero del 2012 la situación podría empeorar.
