El presidente de la Asociación de Residentes de Raccaya en Lima, Silvestre Taype, afirmó que los pobladores de la comunidad de Raccaya, ubicada en el distrito de Canaria, provincia de Víctor Fajardo, Ayacucho, han decidió realizar un paro de 72 horas en la jurisdicción de dicha comunidad, los días 21, 22 y 23 de diciembre con la finalidad de hacer escuchar sus reclamos con relación a las operaciones de la empresa Catalina Huanca en la zona.
Antecedentes
El 30 de noviembre los dirigentes comunales de Raccaya se reunieron con los titulares de Catalina Huanca, representados por el gerente general Eduardo Loret de Mola Lavalle, en la ciudad de Ica, como espacio neutral, para que los raccayinos puedan exponer sus demandas, pero no se llegó a ningún acuerdo. Luego, los pobladores decidieron en reunión comunal del 4 de diciembre, acatar el paro de 72 horas.
Demandas
Silvestre Taype refiere que la empresa se ha negado a atender sus demandas, entre ellas: La renegociación de la servidumbre sobre 30 hectáreas concedidas el 2005 por un lapso 30 años, donde los comuneros piden que la suma mensual de 2,900 dólares ascienda a un monto de 25 mil dólares, bajo el sustento de que la empresa ha elevado su producción de minerales. Asimismo, piden una compensación por la posible contaminación que se genere en la zona a causa de la planta concentradora.
Por otro lado, refiere que la empresa está interesada en solicitar 150 hectáreas para la instalación de una nueva relavera, en la zona de Raccaure. “Los comuneros han respondido a este pedido que jamás permitirán eso, porque es una zona agrícola. No obstante, la empresa ha señalado que de no aceptar el pedido, conversarán con los pobladores de Apongo o con Canaria para que les cedan el hectareaje de terrenos que requieren. “Pero igual, en la parte alta hay ojos de agua, y se perjudicaría Huancapi, Tiquihua, Hualla, y pronto ellos reaccionarían”, precisó el dirigente.

Los líderes comunales de Raccaya se han reunido el 15 de diciembre con el presidente regional Wilfredo Oscorima. Le llamaron la atención por no definir su rol de mediador entre la comunidad y la empresa, según indicaron.
