Se dice que el Ministerio de la Mujer y Desarrollo Social (MIMDES) sin los programas sociales que ha transferido a los gobiernos locales ya no justifica su funcionamiento. Sin embargo, es ahora que tiene la gran oportunidad de impulsar programas que realmente favorezcan a las mujeres, niñas, niños y adultos mayores. Revisemos algunos temas pendientes:
Pobreza: ¿Cuántas mujeres que ya no son pobres, desarrollan actividades productivas y laborales dignas, tienen estabilidad laboral, con remuneraciones decorosas? ¿Cuántas niñas ya no son explotadas laboralmente y estudian? ¿Cuántos ancianos y ancianas se encuentran en estado de abandono? ¿Cómo se encuentra la población adulta mayor?
Violencia de género: ¿Ya no existe feminicidio en el Perú? ¿Las mujeres, niñas y niños que sufren violencia familiar o de género tienen acceso a los servicios que tutelan estos temas? ¿Se sienten atendidos de forma adecuada? ¿Se les hace justicia?
Educación: ¿Se ha asegurado la educación para todos y todas? ¿Se ha posibilitado que los niños y niñas del sector rural hayan culminado sus estudios primarios y secundarios y puedan acceder a una educación superior de calidad?
Salud: ¿Acceden las mujeres de zonas distantes a los servicios de salud de forma oportuna? ¿Cómo están siendo atendidas las mujeres en estado de gestación? ¿Tienen acceso a programas de educación sexual? ¿Ya no existen embarazos precoces en el Perú? ¿No existe mortalidad materna? ¿Cuánto se han reducido los índices de violaciones sexuales contra mujeres, niños y niñas?
Estos son sólo algunos temas que debería solucionar el MIMDES porque para ello fue creado, no obstante que en los anteriores gobiernos realizó un trabajo orientado a la ayuda asistencial. En ese sentido, creemos que la capacidad de rectoría en las políticas de género de este sector debe ser real y eficiente para que las mujeres y los sectores por los que trabaja se sientan representados.
